2. Get Organized
After writing this article I decided to move “organization” closer to the top of the checklist. This is because getting organized was a life changer for me. Once I figured out an organizational system for my business, I became more focused and was able to accomplish more tasks.
The first thing I did to get organized was sign up for QuickBooks. I started researching everything I could to learn how to properly keep a record of my accounting. Just the mere thought of accounting use to make me cringe. But once I took the time to learn how it works and stayed consistent, it stopped becoming a burden. I use the Quickbooks self-employed version which automatically uploads my transactions for me. This makes managing my finances so much easier!
Another thing that I did to get organized this year was re-do my Instagram account. My content use to be all over the place. So, I decided to delete everything and start over. Next, I started using a content scheduler called Tailwind. Tailwind helps me map out and schedule all my social media posts in advance. I use it to schedule both my Pinterest and Instagram posts. Since I started using this method, I have way less anxiety about what I need to post next.
3. Work Out
Make time for exercise. The benefits of working out are immense. Exercise helps you stay physically healthy which inadvertently helps your business glow up. A study showed that working out will boost your productivity. It prevents that afternoon slump so that you have energy to work on your business. It also has been proven to improve your mental capacity!
I understand it can be hard to find time to work out when you are busy working hard on your business. Use the weekly workout planner worksheet included with your glow up checklist to help you map out your exercise goals.

Here are some helpful exercise glow up tips:
- choose an activity that you enjoy. Then aim to do it 3-4 times a week.
- Get creative. You can dance, swim, play a sport, or go for hike.
- Make it a date. Invite your significant other or friend to join to make it fun!
4. Stay Hydrated
I know you probably heard this time and time again but drink more water. Our bodies are made up of 60% water. So, it only makes sense that we need to drink it for our bodies to function at their best. Not drinking enough water can lead to dehydration, extreme mood swings, and tons of other complications. When your body is hydrated your body will feel better and your skin will glow. If water is not one of your favorite beverages, then try adding a lemon or lime wedge to improve the taste. Carrying your water around in a motivational water bottle can help you stay motivated about drinking water throughout the day.
5. Get Enough Sleep
We ALL know we need beauty sleep, but who feels like they could use more? Me quickly raises hand*! Sleep is important for keeping dark circles at bay, and it also has a huge effect on how productive you will be the next day. Studies have found that lack of sleep hampers your memory, your decision-making skills, and your ability to solve problems. These are all important factors in achieving optimal productivity. So, for the ultimate glow up tip, both internal and external, make sure you get a good night’s sleep! Use the nightly sleep tracker worksheet included with your planner to keep a record of your sleeping habits. It will help you track how many hours of sleep you are getting and how it effects your mood and behaviors.

6. Eat Clean
I know we’ve all heard the saying you are what you eat. This couldn’t be further from the truth. It is important to give your body the right nutrients to function at its best. This means eating the right foods that your body can turn into energy. Naturally this would be incorporating more vegetables and whole foods into your diet. You want to make sure your body has what it needs to pull those 12-18 hours shifts we sometimes have to endure as a boss babes. 7. Learn A New Skill
Next on the list is learn a new skill. The world is constantly changing. Therefore, it is important to constantly be learning. Now I don’t want you to stop what’s working for your business, however I am sure we can agree there is always room for improvement.
Learning a new skill could be as simple as improving on something that you already know how to do. For example, I’ve been blogging for years. However, when I started this blog, I decided to take the plunge and invest in a blogging course. I learned so many new things that I have been able to apply to this blog. I have been able to grow this blog faster than any other website I ever created. It was well worth the time and money spent.
Learning a new skill doesn’t always mean you have to make a large financial investment. There are hundreds of cheap courses on Skillshare that are just as good, if not better than some courses that cost hundreds of dollars. Learning a new skill is an investment that can yield high returns. So why not invest in yourself.

8. Set Smart Goals
As a business owner, it’s crucial to learn how to set goals so that you can start working towards them. Setting smart goals will give you the confidence and motivation to achieve your goals. When setting goals remember to keep them S.M.A.R.T: specific, measurable, attainable, and time bound. Use the goal worksheet included to help you create and track your goals.

We also have an entire goal setting planner on our website dedicated to helping you map out and achieve all your long-term and short-term goals.
9. Be Consistent
Even if you are not seeing results now, that does not mean your efforts are for nothing. The thing about being a business owner is there is no instant gratification. You must wake up, show up, and put in that work. Eventually all your hard starts to pay off in the form of bank deposits $$$! So keep going girl, I see you and they will too.
10. Read Inspirational Books
Pick out an inspirational book to read. If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know that I’m big on motivation. Sometimes reading a quick motivational quote can change your outlook on a bad day. I also feel this way when I read inspirational books. I love reading testimonial stories about empowered women and their journeys to success. They inspire me to keeping going and makes me feel more confident about achieving my own goals. Here are two inspirational books written by boss babes that I believe will inspire you:
- “You Are A Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life”
- “Good Vibes, Good Life: How Self-Love Is the Key to Unlocking Your Greatness”
11. Do More of What Makes You Happy
This next glow up tip is super important. You need to do more of what makes you happy. As an entrepreneur a lot of times our business, no matter how hard, does make us happy. But I’m talking about doing more of the things that you love. This is so important for your mental health. If you enjoy bubble baths, take the time to run that bath while burning an energy cleansing candle. If you enjoy watching comedy movies, sit down and watch that movie even if it’s by yourself. It’s OK to take time for yourself. Because if you’re not OK, it’s NOT okay.

Self-care tip: Try adding activities in your routine that include all four dimensions of wellbeing (emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual). For example, you might journal out your feelings, read a chapter of that inspirational book, go for a short run, eat a healthy meal, or read some morning affirmations. This will ensure you start you day off balanced and on the right foot.
12. Let Go of Toxic Relationships
If you are getting weighed down by someone else’s negative energy let it go, sis! How are you supposed to elevate if you are carrying someone else’s dead weight? It is simple…you can’t.
13. Stop Procrastinating
This glow up tip seems like common sense, but even I am guilty of it…procrastination! Then one day it hit me like a ton of bricks. If I keep putting off the things that I don’t want to do, that doesn’t mean they still don’t need to be done. It just means, that thing plus new things will be sitting there for me to do later. Now I have a huge pile of things to do, and I get OVERWHELMED. Nike said it best…Just Do It.
14. Cultivate a Boss Babe Mindset
Glowing up isn’t just limited to appearance; it goes a lot deeper. A true glow-up involves your mindset, especially for an entrepreneur.
Becoming more positive is just one of the many ways to build a stronger mindset. Reading positivity quotes, practicing gratitude daily, and reading are great ways to help elevate your mind. Having a growth mindset rather than a fixed one can make the difference between quitting and succeeding. Remember you are what you attract, so good vibes only.

15. Celebrate Your Wins
Finally, celebrate your wins! Things may not always feel positive, but progress is the key no matter how small it is. Remember that your power is that there is no one else in the world like you. Build your confidence by stepping out of your comfort zone. When you face challenges, consider what you can do to make the situation better and keep going.
